Payment Policy

Tuition is payable at the time of registration; at least $100.00 must be paid at that time. Arrangements for deferred payment may be made through the fi­nancial services office. Full payment is due by Aug. 23 for fall semester and Jan. 24 for spring semester. Payment after these dates is subject to the late payment fee of $5.00. Degrees will not be awarded nor will a transcript be provided until all financial obligations have been met.

 

Financial Aid

Basic Tuition Assistance

Students having financial need may apply for tuition grant by submitting a financial aid application with their application for enrollment.

 

Presidential Grants

A limited number of awards are made each year by recommendation of the Scholarship Committee.

 

Denomination’s Fund Grants

Those who need financial assistance beyond work-study and basic tuition assistance may apply for a Denomination’s Fund Grant. These limited grants are awarded based on need. Awards are made in May for the following year.

Missionary’s Family Tuition Grants

Family members of missionaries may receive annual scholarship assistance for tuition.

 

Work Scholarships

Students may apply for work scholarships. Scholarships normally are granted for ten hours of work per week. Jobs include secretarial, clerical, computer services, library assistant, faculty assistant, bookstore, student services, maintenance and grounds, audio-visual, and facilities care.

 

The Church Partnership Program

The Church Partnership Program fosters significant involvement of the student’s home church with the student and with the school. Though the student is always responsible for his financial commitments to the university, this program provides tuition assistance to students through an agreement with a student’s home church to share in the student’s financial support.

Student’s Right to Cancel

CANCELLATION/WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY

A registered student of United Westminster University has the right to a refund according to CEC§94820 respectively CEC§94822. According to CEC§94820 the refund will be calculated for the unused portion of tuition fees and other charges if the student does not register for the period of attendance or withdraws therefrom at any time prior to completion of the courses, or otherwise fails to complete the period of enrollment. Students who have completed 60 percent or less of the course of instruction shall receive a pro rata refund.  The refund shall be calculated according to §94820, article (b).

 

If the student cancels the class prior to the first day of instruction, he/she is entitled to a refund, without penalty or obligation, equaling 100 percent of the amount paid for institutional charges, less a deposit or the application fee in the amount of $100, as long as notice of cancellation is made prior to or on the first day of instruction. This regulation is consistent with CEC§94822.

 

Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure

To cancel enrollment/registration or withdraw completely from United Westminster University, the student must deliver or mail a signed and dated "Notice of Cancellation or Withdrawal”) to: Registrar, 3939 Marlton Ave. Unit 402, Los Angeles, CA 90008 by certified mail. If mailed, the effective date of cancellation/withdrawal is the date postmarked.

 

United Westminster University also refunds money collected for sending to a third party on the student's behalf such as license or application fees. If United Westminster University cancels or discontinues a course or degree program, United Westminster University will make a full refund of all charges. A refund will be paid within 30 days of cancellation.
